ONE HECK OF A SAUSAGE

HECK foodSince starting out four years ago, the family-run food company, HECK, has been wowing sausage, burger and meatball fans with its award-winning, gluten-free recipes.
With healthy innovation at the heart of everything they do, the dynamic, young team is constantly coming up with creative ways to innovate and bring interesting new, farmers’ market-quality products to the supermarket shelves. Their range is now stocked in all of the main supermarket chains in the UK.

Everything is gluten-free and many lines are dairy-free too. In fact with beef, pork, chicken and meat-free varieties to choose them, there’s something for everyone.
Lower fat chicken sausages, burgers and meatballs have been a hit with slimmers and healthy eaters, containing just 3% fat, which is far less than you get in regular pork versions.

Proving that meat-free doesn’t need to be taste-free, they’ve also added a delicious vegan-friendly range packed with superfood ingredients to do you good as well as taste good. Super Greens and Thai Bites balls have been passed by The Vegan Society too.

Innovation is a big part of what HECK is about and the team love to come up with new ideas that put a modern take on the traditional British banger. These include square sausages for the BBQ, heart-shaped patties for Valentine’s Day and a cheeky name change from HECK to FECK for St Patrick’s Day. The latest to join the line-up were their Christmas Baubles that went on sale in supermarkets during December last year.

The company is also about to celebrate the opening of their new factory in their North Yorks heartland. Fitted out with state of the art machinery that will be able to fire out 700 sausages a minute, the first phase of the project opens its doors in April, with phase 2 opening later in the year that will include a visitor centre, shop and viewing area in the factory so that people can see first how the HECK range is made. www.heckfood.co.uk
