Samsung Gear Fit 2

Gearfit, reviews, sports

Fitness wearables show few signs off waning in 2017. Instead, you can probably expect more to choose from than ever before, with brands introducing new bells and whistles in terms of functionality alongside enhanced designs.

Samsung have weighed into battle with the Gear Fit 2, a reinvention of the original Gear Fit, which has been around since 2014.

At first glance it looks as though little has changed, though the curved touchscreen and AMOLED display have been slightly reshaped to cram in more information to a slightly wider space. The pixel density has also been enhanced, which makes for a much clearer UX. It still fells as comfortable as the first and is now easier to charge than ever, with a forgiving dock much more user-friendly than, say, competitor wearables with plug-in charging.

A quicker processor and greater storage are noteable improvements, and it’s increasingly intuitive, which means it automatically detects your movements – or lack of them – without you having do anything to power the heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope or barometer. Once paired with a smartphone (though not Apple, soz), the experience improves even further.

Heck Sausages

Heck, Heck Sausages, Healthy Sausages, Reviews

Is there such a thing as a healthier sausage? HECK yes!

HECK has a great solution for anyone wanting to embark on a healthy eating plan without giving up their beloved bangers.

Launched last year, HECK Chicken sausages have raced up the pecking order to become the nation’s favourite gourmet bangers with a healthy twist and now slimmers, ‘free-from’ groups and those wanting to stay in shape without giving up their favourite foods are tucking in.

Among the key benefits of HECK Chicken Sausages…

They’re high in protein, low in fat, gluten free and yet still delicious. And, like all HECK sausages, they contain a high meat content – minimum 85% lean, farm-assured British chicken (reports suggest the healthiest sausages are those with a high meat content).

They’re not packed with fillers to bulk them out and they’re free from nitrates or nitrites (salts which help kill bacteria in products like bacon, salami and chorizo, and linked to a recent health scare).

They’re also lower in calories and saturated fat (70% less fat) than regular pork sausages.

Debbie Keeble, HECK company founder, says: “We are all becoming more focused on healthy eating and reducing our red meat consumption, and people are increasingly looking for their favourite foods but in a healthier form. Our chicken range is perfect for anyone who loves sausages but can’t or doesn’t want to eat pork. We receive many emails and letters from families to say their children love them too.”

Based in Bedale, North Yorks, the Keeble family behind the HECK brand are passionate about creating new variations, flavour combinations and taste experiences for sausages, as seen in their square sausages for the BBQ, heart-shaped patties for Valentine’s Day and Christmas Baubles (delightful seasonal meatballs).
On a mission to prove that not all sausages are created equal, the family uses minimum 85% British, high-quality and farm-assured cuts of lean meat and everything in the range is low in fat and gluten-free.
