Five alive for the Holme Howler

Holme HowlerNow in its fifth year, the fun yet challenging Holme Howler returns to the beautiful Lake District on the 8th July 2017.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Holme Village in Cumbria, eight miles south of Kendal, racers can tackle a compact race, all while being able to enjoy the views and surrounding countryside.

This fun OCR is ideal for beginners but also has enough challenges on the 8.5-10km course to keep even the most seasoned racers on their toes, including log and tyre obstacles, crawling, water tunnels and water slides.

There is also a mini Howler for the little ones, which starts 90 minutes after the main event.

The Holme Howler continues to grow in popularity. Starting with just 34 racers in 2012, this year the organisers are expecting 400 entries, and there’s still time for you to seal your place.

Simply head to their website (address below) for individual and team entries, which cost between £18 and £20. You can enter teams of up to six people, and the first four members to finish will see their scores taken for a final cumulative team score.

You can follow the event on Facebook for the latest updates, but if you’re interested it’s worth noting you also get a goodie bag, t-shirt and bespoke medal to remember your experience. Plus, you not only have the chance to enjoy the surroundings for the rest of the weekend, but there’s also an after party complete with food, drink and entertainment to help you relax those weary muscles!

If you can’t make it, or you miss out, then fear not, the orgainsers are also running a Santa Dash on December 17 later this year. Head to their website, or Facebook page, for updates.
