Maybe we’ve been making a good impression or more of us just want to jump on the gym selfie bandwagon, but it seems Britain is becoming home to more fitness enthusiasts. According to the 2017 State of UK Fitness Industry Report, as things currently stand, one in every seven people in the UK has a gym membership. This might have something to do with the increase in low-cost clubs, of which there are now over 500 across the UK. Unfortunately it’s not all good news though, as research from the University of Birmingham revealed that over 20% of the population are now obese. Birmingham itself has the third highest rate in the country, with over 25% of its residents known to be obese. Let’s hope these memberships will be put to good use come January.
